How do I initially share a work-in-progress with one or two or three co-authors only, and not with everyone.

Hi sturtivant,

When you create a new book on your My Books page, there is an option below the license drop-down box, called Initially hidden from others. If you select this no one else can see your book on Booki. You will also notice that to the right of each book in your My Books list, there is a Hide from other buttons, this does the same thing to books that have already been created.

Now to allow other people to edit the hidden book, send them the URL for the book's editing page. (e.g. for the Booki User Guide, the URL is **http://www.booki.cc/booki-user-guide/_edit/**).

This way your small group of authors can jump in and start contributing to the book without it being visible to the entire community.

When you are ready for it to be viewed and edited by the wider community, click the Show to others button next to the hidden book's title in your My Books list.

Cheers,

John

Also you can now message all the people involved via the messaging system. So you might want to create a group and get everyone to join the group, then just message the group with !groupname syntax. you dont have to make the hidden book part of the group. but this messaging helps with collaboration in a closed group
