At the bottom of a chapter edit page (e.g., http://booki.flossmanuals.net/SOME-BOOK/_edit/) there is a checkbox and three text fields. The check box has a label: "Minor change, don't notify". Okay, pretty obvious what that is. But then of the three text fields, the first one has NO label. The remaining two are "Author:" and "Author comment:", so it's reasonably clear what those are. But what's the first one for? I assumed it was for the author comment, that is, the equivalent of a "log message" in the version control sense, but then I saw that that's the third field, and I have no idea what's supposed to go in the first field. -Karl Fogel |

the first one is a comment field. It appends a comment to the revision. Try it - if you add a comment at save time then click on the history tab and you will see the comment displayed on the right most column. Also if (in the history tab) you click on the latest entry for the chapter you just saved and then click on the revision number you will see your comment. |
